A trends page such as Trends24 shows a ranked list of topics and hashtags that you have to open and refresh. Trending Tweet Alerts works the other way round: you pick categories once, and when a new tweet starts trending in one of them, the bot sends it to your Telegram with the author, text and engagement numbers.
One honest limit: this is a feed of tweets that trend, not a ranked list of trend names. It does not have a country selector. If you want the list of hashtags for a region, a trends page is still the right tool; if you want to be told about the tweets as they surface, this is.
Each alert is labelled “Trending in” plus the category, then shows the author, the tweet text (long tweets are cut at a sensible word break), likes, retweets and views, a media count if there is one, and a link to the tweet. You can open the tweet in one tap and decide whether it matters.
X groups trending content into topic categories, and so do we: 24 of them, listed in the table below. Switch on only the ones you care about, for example Cryptocurrency and Technology, and the other 22 stay silent. You can change the selection at any time with /categories.
Every category is checked every 60 seconds. A tweet is alerted once, the first time it appears in that category’s trending feed, and tweets that were already trending when the service started are skipped so you do not get a flood on day one. That is a one-minute polling cycle. It is not the sub-second detection used for account alerts (see published speed).
